Review of Mail-Order Marriages

Well, I have finished reading this book completely. I don't know if I will keep it or not. It is really, really, really good and very well written. But the thing is, I don't like reading books that have risque things in it. Nothing that is wrong, mind you; it just shares several marriage bed scenes in it. So, anyways, other than this; these stories are very well written. I really enjoyed reading it, skipping over the bad parts. And I am very familiar to Jillian Hart, as many of her novels are really good--and her part in this series was great. Also, her novella doesn't have anything risque in it. Carolyn Davidson's novella was pretty great too. Although, hers does have risque parts in it, but the storyline was very interesting and edgy! The novella Kate Bridges wrote was really awesome too, and it had a great solid storyline that really grabbed you when you read the first page! So, if you're into 1800s novellas and are wanting to read something that has romance and slight edginess; then I totally recommend you reading this book.

My next review will be for Silver Mountains by Pamela Griffin. It's destined to be a great enjoyment to read, I'll wager!

Til my next post!

  1. I'm surprised that the Christian market published it if it had risqué scenes in it.

  2. I don't mind reading those things. Heck I write them, so you may not like the series I do on Julia. Or my Airborne novel. There will be those things in it.

  3. Veronica- It's published by Harlequin. So, yeah. But I thought it would be clean as a whistle because of a Christian author, but I was wrong.

Lizzie, I don't either. BUT it has too much...details, if you know what I mean. Not the you can read between the lines kinda stuff.
I know, one of my story has some pretty risque things in it.

  4. Yeah some do and I think mine will too. I hope you don't mind, but I just think it suits the book. I guess we're just a couple of risque gals.

  7. Its not a Love Inspired Historica...so there's bound to be a bit of spice to it. Have you read any of the Love Inspired line? They have some really wonderful authors there. Linda Goodnight, who also writes for the mainstream Harlequin romance line. She keeps her books clean for that line as well.

Love Inspired is published by Harlequin and they do a regular romance line, a suspense line and a historical line.

Yeah...I read a lot of series romance.

Thanks for stopping by my place earlier.
