Play On - Carrie Underwood

I have recently bought the newest CD by Carrie Underwood titled "Play On". I have decided to do a review of it. First of all, the cover of the CD captured my attention.

Plus, I have her previous CD "Some Hearts" and it was really good, so I knew this CD was a 'must-have'! Carrie Underwood is a country singer who sang the famous "Jesus Take the Wheel" and "Before He Cheats". This CD has 13 songs on it.

1. Cowboy Casanova
2. Quitter
3. Mama's Song
4. Change
5. Undo It
6. Someday When I Stop Loving You
7. Songs Like This
8. Temporary Home
9. This Time
10. Look At Me
11. Unapologize
12. What Can I Say
13. Play On

There are the fast songs, the slow songs and the best songs. My favorite songs were: "Cowboy Casanova" as it has the beat like "Before He Cheats" and the video was fanastic as it took you to Saloon Girls in a western-style video, "Change" speaks of things you wish you could do to make the world a better place and how people tell you that you can't, "Temporary Home" is such a wonderful song that reminds you of "Jesus Take the Wheel" and the video makes you cry, and "Someday When I Stop Loving You" reminded me a lot of George Jones's hit "He Stopped Loving Her Today".

I rate this CD 10 stars as I am a Carrie fan and love her sweet voice. I would recommend you listening to the 4 songs I listed as faves first, and you'll be hoooked on Carrie. I forgot to mention Carrie's other CD "Carnival Ride" as it was released after "Some Hearts" CD. I had forgotten about it. You may reconize some of "Carnival Ride"'s songs as Carrie sung "Last Name", "Just a Dream" and "All-American Girl" on there.

Well, this was my first review of a CD! I think I did rather well! Please leave comments.

Book Blogger Hop

My first Friday blog hop!

Visit the starting place here.

I hope to get more followers as I have followed several people on Crazy-for-Books site. My last blog hop got me 5 followers...I hope to get more this time!

I will be posting a blog tomorrow and am thinking about changing my theme. Oh, the pic on my banner is of who I picture one of my book characters to look like- Isla Fisher is whom I picture my most recent character, Laney Skelton. I am currently writing the novella in the early 1800s and it's set in Indiana. The Courting Plan will be a Christian Romance, possibly in the Western or Historical section.

Hopefully a review is coming up on here. I am currently reading Silver Mountains by Pamela Griffin. I am on book 1 and on page 41. I believe the review will be of a CD I just bought and am listening to. Carrie Underwood's newest CD- Play On featuring the hit song, Cowboy Casanova.

Review of Mail-Order Marriages

Well, I have finished reading this book completely. I don't know if I will keep it or not. It is really, really, really good and very well written. But the thing is, I don't like reading books that have risque things in it. Nothing that is wrong, mind you; it just shares several marriage bed scenes in it. So, anyways, other than this; these stories are very well written. I really enjoyed reading it, skipping over the bad parts. And I am very familiar to Jillian Hart, as many of her novels are really good--and her part in this series was great. Also, her novella doesn't have anything risque in it. Carolyn Davidson's novella was pretty great too. Although, hers does have risque parts in it, but the storyline was very interesting and edgy! The novella Kate Bridges wrote was really awesome too, and it had a great solid storyline that really grabbed you when you read the first page! So, if you're into 1800s novellas and are wanting to read something that has romance and slight edginess; then I totally recommend you reading this book.

My next review will be for Silver Mountains by Pamela Griffin. It's destined to be a great enjoyment to read, I'll wager!

Til my next post!

Rocky Mountain Wedding - a Review

I am currently reading Mail-Order Marriages. I have finished reading Book 1 - Rocky Mountain Wedding by Jillian Hart.

Even though it does mention some sensual thoughts in it, it is harmless. This girl travels to this small town to marry a guy, who turns out to be engaged to someone else. Melody doesn't have any money to return home, so the man she was supposed to marry's brother helps her settle in the town and get a job. Gabe is a closed-off lawman who believes that love doesn't exist!

After a while of being in town, Gabe's feelings about love starts to change and Melody begins to love this little town and Gabe's parents. And behold we witness a Rocky Mountain Wedding!

Book 2 of Mail-Order Marriages is Married in Missouri by Carolyn Davidson.
Review coming up after I finish reading it.

To kick off our Book Club, we’re giving away 50 free copies of A Dream for Hannah. The giveaway ends Monday June 14 at 10:00 AM, so be sure to enter using the form below!

About the book:
Our first book club selection is A Dream for Hannah. We think you’ll find this book especially insightful because it’s written by Jerry S. Eicher, who is formerly Amish himself. Jerry will be stopping by our Book Club to answer your questions and discuss A Dream for Hannah.

At almost 17, Hannah’s young heart is just beginning to blossom. For the very first time, she seriously begins to ponder the perennial question, What is love?

When she was a girl, crushes were far from serious–just a silly game she played along with so she wouldn’t get teased at school. But now, her feelings are starting to change.

When Hannah spends a summer at her aunt’s Montana horse ranch, she discovers there is much to learn about life and love. With three very different boys in her life, Hannah wonders if her dream of love can ever come true. Can she stay true to her faith while also following her heart?

We hope you’ll join our discussion on Facebook! Looking forward to seeing you there…

A Poem I Wrote

Our world without God
Is filled with crime and hate
Our government has no respect for God's love
They just want their money

That's all everyone wants
Money, Money, Money
But we should want God's love
As much as we want money

But people don't care no more
They think they can get by without God
But one day He's returning
And then they will see.

Our world with God
Is filled with love so divine
God's children are so obedient, kind, and caring
Each having such a love for Him

All they want
Is to walk their life's journey with God
They are hungry
Hungry for more of His word

God's children do care
They know that with Him, all things are possible
One day, He's returning
And gladly will they follow Him to Heaven.
